This is the official website of the Book Barn in Niantic, thanks for stopping by! We have an ever changing collection of over 500,000 books spread out between our three locations, all of which can be found within one mile of each other bordering the ocean in beautiful seaside Niantic. Whether you want to come to browse our stacks of books, spend some quality time with our cats, or just relax with a picnic in our beautiful gardens, Book Barn Niantic is the destination for you.
Please feel free to browse our site to prepare yourself for browsing our store. You can find information about how we buy books, where you can find our books, who sells our books and who will keep you company while you browse. Please enjoy the site and remember to come visit us often. You never know what treasure you may find.
Excited children with new territory to cover may not notice signs in place to deter dangerous activities, which is why we ask that you accompany your child throughout their journey on our property.
We want everyone to leave happy, intact and with a book in hand. Please help us maintain a peaceful browsing environment for all of our guests.

We encourage everyone who visits us to bring reusable bags, but if you have paper or plastic bags that you feel have worn out their welcome in your home, please bring them to us and we will find a great and noble use for them- for what nobler a deed than to transport books?

We will be giving out one free cupcake to each customer who wears their Book Barn 25th Anniversary shirt to the Main Barn between 1-6pm.

Our Hours:
We are open every day from 9 A.M. to 9 P.M. for browsing. We buy books from 11 A.M. to 6 P.M. Please refer to our buying policy for details.
Our Buying Policy
Buying Policy Update: As of November 1st we will be offering Store Credit Only on Thursdays and Fridays. Cash or store credit is still available Saturday through Wednesdays.
We buy books for cash or store credit every (good weather) day, between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.. No appointment is necessary. As of November 1st we will be offering Store Credit Only on Thursdays and Fridays. Cash or store credit is still available Saturday through Wednesdays. We may not be able to take everything you bring. But if you bring it, we will gladly take what we can!
As of September 30th, 2011 we will be buying books from customers only at the main location at 41 W. Main St. We will no longer buy at the Midtown or Downtown locations. We are sorry for any inconvenience.
