SEE BELOW FOR INFO ON SELLING BOOKS TO THE BARN.
Due to people's caution about social mixing, we have had many inquiries of late about curbside pickups.
With being short-staffed after the shutdown, we are asking our public not to email us with lists of more
than ten requested titles. Any additional info you can give us about the titles' genres and subject areas is of help.
Short of any extension of the state shutdown, the Book Barn shops will all be reopening at 11.00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20th. Please be conscious that there will be some necessary differences in your visit due to the ongoing pandemic; these are being instituted for your safety as well as our own. We ask most of all that people practice patience in the face of the inconveniences. So here’s an introduction to the Book Barn’s version of the New Normal:
--Our new hours are that we will be open from 11.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m., seven days a week. These hours may change as conditions change.
--The shops will all be reopening at 11.00 a.m. NO EARLY ENTRY. Please don’t bumrush the doors before we’re ready to receive.
--State rules require that the property stays at 50% occupancy or less. That means we’re going to have to monitor admissions and there may be some waiting involved.
--While you are visiting we beg you to act consciously to observe a six-foot distance between you and the other browsers.
--MASKS will be required of every man, woman, and child, except for infants and children under two. Every child should be accompanied by an adult of eighteen years or older. For our customers who are medically unable to wear a mask we will happily accomodate your book-buying needs by offering curbside pickup.
--The entire Barn property, the parking lot included, will be a no-smoking, no-vaping zone.
--We request that you not bring food or drink onto the Barn property. For the moment we will not be offering coffee or snacks. (Sigh. We hate this part too.)
--Please bring your own bags for shopping.
THE NEW DEAL ON SELLING US BOOKS:
LEAVE YOUR BOOKS IN YOUR CAR UNTIL YOU HAVE SPOKEN TO A BARN EMPLOYEE AT THE BUYING TABLE.
BUYING HOURS WILL BE FROM 11.00 A.M. TO 6.OO P.M.
--From Wednesday May 20th to Wednesday May 27th, we will not be buying books. Donations will be accepted.
--From Thursday May 28th to Thursday June 4th, we will be buying books for store credit only, as well as accepting donations.
--On Friday, June 5th we will return to our regular practice of buying books for either store credit or a check, as well as accepting donations.
PLEASE BE AWARE--DUE TO THE NEED FOR SOCIAL DISTANCING WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BUY BOOKS IF IT'S RAINING OR SNOWING. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE.
--While waiting to sell, please do not crowd the buying table. Wear your mask and keep a proper distance from the other visitors.
